We are a newly incorporated, not-for-profit community association created to represent the long-term interests of Palm Cove. Our purpose is to bring residents, business owners and stakeholders together to build on what makes Palm Cove unique, and to advocate for positive, sustainable outcomes for our village.

Our mission is Enhancing our Village, Securing Our Future. We focus on three core pillars:

• Ideas – identifying opportunities and solutions that strengthen Palm Cove

• Advocacy – representing community interests to all levels of government and key decision-makers

Outcomes – driving initiatives that will deliver real, lasting benefits to Palm Cove including its residents, businesses and visitors. 

Our management committee and founding members are local residents, business operators and professionals with deep experience in community engagement, tourism and hospitality, project management, government relations and professional services. We are united by a shared passion for Palm Cove and its future. 

No. We are strictly non-partisan and independent. Our focus is on issues, not political parties or agendas. We pride ourselves on our ability to work constructively with all levels of government, regardless of who is in office at any point in time. 

Palm Cove is at a critical moment in its evolution. With increasing pressure from development, infrastructure gaps, and changes to the tourism economy, the community needs a proactive, organised and professional voice. The association exists to ensure community views are heard early on in project planning — not after key decisions are made. 

Examples include (but are not limited to):

• Appropriate and sustainable development

• Improved public infrastructure and access

• Enhancement of Palm Cove as a valuable tourism ‘asset’

• Preservation of Palm Cove’s character and natural appeal

• A healthy balance between tourism, community needs and environmental protection

• Place-based activation and initiatives that strengthen local businesses and liveability

We are committed to open communication and collaboration. This includes:

• Community forums and Q&A sessions

• Online updates and surveys

• Direct engagement with local businesses and residents

• Consultation with government and industry partners

• Working groups to explore specific issues/solutions as required

Membership is open to anyone who lives in, works in, owns property in, or cares about the future of Palm Cove.

There are a range of membership benefits.

Members will:

• Stay informed on important issues affecting Palm Cove

• Have access to member-only updates, surveys and events

• Contribute to shaping advocacy priorities and submissions

• Be eligible to join subcommittees or working groups

• Support a united community voice to government, business and

• developers and other stakeholders.

Membership is FREE. 

We will be funded through a combination of donations, sponsorships and occasional grant funding. We do not receive ongoing government funding and we do not operate for commercial profit. 

Decisions are made by the elected management committee, with input from members and the broader community. Major decisions, including changes to the constitution, financial matters or advocacy positions, are made democratically and transparently at the Annual General Meeting. 

Yes. Local businesses play a critical role in the health and vibrancy of Palm Cove. Business membership and partnership opportunities are available. Please email us directly at info@palmcovealliance.org.au with the subject line ‘Business Membership; or ‘Sponsorship Enquiry’ to learn more. 

You can:

• Volunteer for working groups or projects (from time to time)

• Attend public meetings and events

• Share ideas or concerns directly with the committee 

• Support fundraising or sponsorship initiatives

• Help spread awareness of Palm Cove Alliance through your own networks

We are not anti-development. We support development that is appropriate, considered and aligned with the character and needs of Palm Cove. Our goal is to ensure growth enhances our village and doesn't erode it. 

We acknowledge the efforts of many past groups and individuals who have advocated for Palm Cove over the years. Our association builds on that legacy by providing a permanent, structured, incorporated body with continuity and long-term focus. Some of our committee members have advocated for sustainable development and improved infrastructure via other local community campaigns in the past but we believe Palm Cove Alliance is now the best way to achieve the outcomes our village needs. 

Success will be reflected in:

• Greater community engagement and representation

• Constructive outcomes achieved through advocacy

• Visible improvements in village planning and infrastructure

• Measurable increase in tourism economic benefit, more jobs, longer stays, higher spends etc.

• A stronger sense of shared identity and pride in Palm Cove
